On Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. young ladies age 10-17 will convene at Lone Star Flight Museum at Ellington Airport for a day of aviation activities. The Women in Aviation Houston Chapter is planning a full day of activities to include:
Talking to real female pilots
Experiencing how an aircraft engine works
Learning about the science and physics behind airplane aerodynamics
Flying a real fixed aircraft simulator
And SO much more...
Our goal is to inspire young women to pursue a career in the aviation industry. Per the Federal Aviation Administration, only 6% of all pilots are female and other careers in aviation have similar numbers. We want these young ladies to know they can achieve anything by sparking an interest in the aviation industry. Our group of experts will lead and guide the girls through activities during the day that give them this hands on experience.
